Homework is a vital part of the Middle School routine, with students expected to complete about 90 minutes of assignments each weeknight. This workload reinforces classroom learning, encourages effective study habits, and instills a sense of responsibility. SAA works closely with parents to create consistent routines that help boys manage their time well and develop independence in their studies.

To support their holistic growth, SAA encourages students to balance academic commitments with physical activity and downtime. Boys are encouraged to take part in sports, and teachers coordinate with athletic schedules to ensure assignments and expectations are manageable.

Support Systems for Academic Success

SAA recognizes that some students may face academic challenges, especially within a rigorous curriculum. For boys who need extra help, SAA offers no-cost tutoring from 3:30 to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. For longer-term assistance, parents may arrange for private tutoring in consultation with the school. With guidance from the Office of Student Services, students can even receive additional support from tutors or therapists on campus if needed.

Students with learning disabilities may also qualify for academic accommodations. SAA provides resources and supports that address specific needs while ensuring that every student can achieve their personal best.

Once the school day ends, Middle School boys can choose from a variety of after-school activities. Homework Club offers a quiet space for students to focus, while school-sponsored sports provide opportunities to compete and excel. From football and baseball to track, tennis, and golf, SAA’s athletics program encourages boys to stay active, build discipline, and develop lifelong skills.
